How to find yourself when lost

We grew up in a world that conditioned us to fit into a mold. To be the "good girl." To be seen, not heard. To compete to be the best at everything. And the moment we expressed our desires, we were labeled as too much, too bossy, too emotional, too everything.

No wonder so many of us feel lost.

But my love, you were never truly lost. You were just taught to dim your light. And now it’s time to take it back.

In this post you’ll learn:

  • Why knowing who you are and living authentically is key

  • How to thrive, not just survive

  • Powerful practices to reconnect with yourself

  • My personal story with feeling lost — and how it can guide you too

Why knowing who you are and living authentically is key

When you live in alignment with who you are, you become magnetic. Opportunities, relationships, ideas, they begin to flow to you. This post isn’t about financial wealth, but I will say: the more you step into your true self, the more the external world reflects that confidence right back at you.

People treat you how you treat yourself. So when you start showing up as your highest version, watch how the world starts treating you like her too.

Quick example? The moment I started prioritizing myself, even in tiny ways (like speaking up about what I actually wanted for dinner or taking my damn bath without interruption), I noticed everything shift. My energy. My boundaries. Even my ex's comments, as brutal as they were, ( I mean who says your attractive but I don’t fancy you any more!) highlighted what I was no longer available for.

How to thrive, not just survive in life

The secret? You. You are the centre of your world.

(Seriously. Stand still and spin. What moved you or the world? Exactly.)

Here are a few ways to start focusing on yourself without guilt:

1. Forget what they want — what do you want?

Start small. Speak up about what restaurant you want to go to. Take your bath and say, "I can help in 30 minutes." Show others your life matters too. People want what they cant have stop being an infinite resource and value your time and opinion.

2. Focus on feeling good.

This isn't about gym culture or glow-ups (unless you want that!). This is about wearing clothes you feel good in, brushing your hair, or swapping your moisturizer for one with a little tint. Small shifts = big confidence. Big confidence =big energy.

3. Find a hobby that’s just for you.

It doesn’t matter what it is, pottery, Pilates, puzzles, poetry. My current ones? Walking, blogging, and obsessing over self-growth.

Powerful practices to find yourself again

1. Affirmations

I do these while brushing my teeth or washing my face. If I have time, I add subliminal audio and repeat each affirmation 3 times.

2. Gratitude & Goals

Each morning, I write 7 things I’m grateful for, my main goal (in present tense), and any limiting beliefs I want to release. This keeps me aligned and focused.

If my mind is feeling extra buzzy I’ll also do a brain dump to help me focus.

3. Visualization

I use my mindset-rewiring visualization to step into my future self. It helps me drop old identities and reconnect with who I really am. You can access it thorough here if your interested

4. Movement

20 minutes a day, walking, weights or Pilates for me. It boosts confidence, clears my head, and makes me feel magnetic again.

5. Learn something new

Even during a walk, I pop on a podcast or audiobook. Little by little, these new ideas shape how I show up in life. Intellect is sexy.

My experience with feeling lost

While I hate the feeling of being lost, and I’ve felt it more times than I can count. I’ve learned that it's not a signal you’re failing. It's a sign you're ready for more.

Every few years, I hit a “growth spurt.” I outgrow what used to fit. And every time, I come back to these tools. They ground me. They guide me back to myself.

If you’re in that space now, I see you.

You're not broken. You’re just building.

Ready to reinvent yourself?
